The field is wide open but there are some QBs that are ready to step up and make a run at Elite Status.

Instant Replay in Baseball

There may be many reasons why we should not have instant replay in baseball, and certainly this is a matter of debate, just as much as instant replay is being debated in the FIFA World Cup tournament. However, tradition needs to be balanced with evolution -- just because it wasn�t done before doesn�t mean that it can�t be done now. Besides, baseball�s traditions have certainly shown the propensity to make changes (whether it�s truly for the �good of the game� or driven by money is a matter of debate, such as with past divisional realignments).

Instant replay is a technology that is widely available, and is used in football with a high amount of success. I hesitate to make further comparisons to the NFL, but it is a point worth mentioning. Even hockey

Injury problems? Just Don't Panic

We�ve all been hurt recently.

Dustin Pedroia. Chase Utley. Placido Polanco.

And those are just 2B-eligible guys who went down.

Heyward�s out (and, everyone who has him in a keeper league, is happy to be able fill that slot while he recovers). Josh Beckett�s out of commission until at least mid-July. Victor Martinez � one of the best catchers in the game, still � will be out at least a few weeks. And, if you�ve been stashing Brian Roberts all year� get ready to stash him even longer. He�s been set back again.

Of course, as soon as your league-mates see you reeling from the loss of a key guy like Utley or Martinez, they start circling.

The Walking Wounded

As we approach the midway point of the baseball season, things tend to slow down some in the fantasy world. The impact free agents have already been scooped up. Most of the up-and-coming stars from the minor leagues have been called up to the �Big Show�. Owners are still apprehensive about making major trades, if you hear back from them at all (which is a topic for another day!). Most teams are still in the in the hunt for the fantasy title, thinking it is far too early to pack it in and look towards next season. But savvy owners are still looking for ways to improve their team for a second half run.

One untapped resource that is available in all leagues, no matter the size and depth, is the utilization of DL spots. While

Sometimes, you�ve got to go a little crazy. Let me explain.

In one of my leagues, I�m near the bottom. I�ve been near the bottom all three years I�ve been in the league � I inherited a pretty bad team, and I�ve had some rum luck with injuries and early picks � and, I know, it�s time to get drastic.

Simply put, playing in an orthodox manner, it will take me a loooong time to rebuild � the guys in this league are at least as sharp as me. They have access to all the same knowledge, and they know exactly how to use it.

What�s more, this is a daily head-to-head league � and, with my crazy schedule, I just can�t always switch out resting starters the way most of them can.

Dynasty League Dilemma, When is the right time to start looking to next year???

If you�ve never played in a Dynasty League, you don�t know what you�re missing. It is the ultimate form of fantasy baseball, the closest you can come to actually playing GM for your favorite team. You have to not only think about winning this year, but the next 5. All of a sudden, you are forced to think about drafting guys that are still in Triple-A, sometimes even Double -A. It is rewarding, and very, VERY challenging. The most challenging part of a Dynasty League is deciding when to throw up the white flag and start looking to next year, by way of stockpiling draft picks or trading away 3 good players for 1 great player, and doing so without

I remember it like yesterday. On this Father's Day, I am reminiscing back on some of the great memories I've had with my Dad. There is one divide in fantasy baseball that towers over all others.

Rotisserie vs. head to head.

In my experience, very few players practice both. And both camps will defend their preferred format to the death.

Both, of course, have their advantages.

Rotisserie is the fairer of the two. If you build the best team, you�re going to win. Simple as that.
However, it�s not unusual to get knocked out of the race early if you�re not one of the top few teams. It�s not uncommon to know

Obviously, the industry of fantasy sports owes its rise to the advent of the Internet (which, as we all know, Al Gore invented), much as the industries of gambling, financial trading, porn, and forums for the crazy nuts with which to express themselves also do. Though it is fairly easy nowadays to enjoy a hobby relating to the fanaticism of sports at a pace that supplements one�s lifestyle, it can be overwhelming at times making sense of all the information that is out there, all purporting to be the sole and key source for winning a fantasy title.
